Here is an early wooden paint decorated lidded box with dovetailed sides. It is circa 1800. Painted with a black border and grained painted center panels outlined with a gold stripe. The lid has a wonderful carved finial. On three sides the paint is intact, on the fourth side as shown in one of the photos there is some loss.. No losses or repairs on the wooden structure. A beautiful piece of early Americana. It is 5 1/1" square and 5" high.

This is a wonderful very early 19th century sailor made dipper/ladle with a beautifully carved handle and a baleen bowl. The handle has a diamond or pineapple carved pattern on it with six rings on either side. There is a very delicate finial carved at the tip of the handle. The baleen bowl is attached with very small copper tacks. It is 12" long and the bowl is 2 1/2" wide. It is in very good condition.

A very nice early American wooden sign with a hand carved fully spread winged gilded eagle holding in one of its talons a blue and red painted stars and stripes shield and in the other a few Indian arrows. The words "GREAT REPUBLIC" are carved and are in red paint below the eagle. All the paint is original, As you can see the board has split over the centuries. The back has been reinforced with braces to stabilized the sign. The iron hanging rings maybe as old as the sign It measures 34" by 13", even with the split it is a fantastic piece of very early Americana.

This is a wonderful early 19th century American wooden hand carved watch hutch in the form of a miniature cupboard. The front or "door" has a small turned ivory handle that you can use to slide it to the right to expose the compartment that holds the pocket watch. It has very nice scrolling on its top crest and bottom skirt. The back has a "leg" that you open to stand the hutch up. There is a small brass chin that connects the leg to the base. It could be a replacement to the original string that was used. I am not sure what kind of hardwood it is made from, but it is sturdy. No problems or apologies to this piece. A one of a kind. This is a wonderful early courting mirror, These mirrors were hand made by suitors of young ladies when they called on them. They date back to the 18th century. This one is unusual with the picture frame molding surrounding the mirror and the reverse painted blue Delft compote filled with fruit at the top framed in with reverse painted pieces of glass. The mirror is backed with a solid piece of wood carved identically as the mirror frame. It is completely original, a real beauty. Measures 15 by 9 1/2". Nothing missing, nothing cracked.

This is a wonderful 18th century American shaving mirror with a pocket for a razor and lather brush. It is beautiful unusual piece. All original including the mirror, it does have losses to its backboard that show on one of the photos. Very nice trim molding around the base, the opening of the pocket and around the mirror top. It is 8 1/4" high by 5 1/4" wide and 4 1/4" deep. A wonderful patina that only comes from hundreds of years of age. We have owned this piece for many years, purchasing it from "Pantry and Hearth" when it was in NYC.

This is a beautiful rare large size early Shaker box that has no evidence of ever having a top. The box measures 15" by 11 1/4" by 5" high. It has its original red wash that has developed a wonderful patina over the centuries. It is in very good condition, no losses, a slight tight crack in between the two center finger laps. There is a slight depression in the top rim that is not a loss, the smoothness of its edges lead me to believe it was there when the box was made. It can be seen in the photos. This box is a great example of early Shaker workmanship. Price $695

Here is another very nice early turned burl bowl with a very defined footed base. A great dry surface with a wonderful patina. The bowl measures 7 3/8" wide by 3" tall. In great condition with only the expected flea bite nicks along the top rim.

Two early cleated bottom rolled push-up iron "Hog scraper" candlesticks. Most likely 18th century, in very good condition, their pushups work, the hanging hooks are still intact. They are 6" tall, one has a black patina that that was acquired over centuries of use. The other has been scraped clean to a nice gun metal gray finish. These are the earliest versions of the hog scraper sticks.

Here is the MOTHER of all courting mirrors, this 18th century mirror is one of the largest I have ever seen. It is 25" tall by 14 1/2" wide. It is in very nice condition, the frame and backboard are intact, the mirror is original and has losses. The reverse painting on top is a beautiful floral painting with minimum loss. This is a rare and unusal size, a must have for a early mirror collector.

Here is a beautiful early (circ 1800) wooden canteen in its original blue/green paint, with a mustard yellow six point star painted on it. At the top of the canteen the side pieces are lapped and held together with tacks. On the back are four tacks that still hold a remnant of the leather strap that was attached to it. The canteen measures 5 1/2" across by 1 3/4" wide. The wood hand carved stopped has alot of age to it and could be original to the canteen. A fabulous piece of early Americana.

This is a absolutly beautiful early 19th century American painted game board, it is painted with red and black squares with a yellow/gold piping in between them and a yellow/gold vine boarder around the outside of the squares. A wonderful, folky piece of Americana, a hand carved handled basket made of walnut shells. It was probably made either in the late 19th cent. or early 20th cent. The shells are held together with wire running thru them. A very handsome piece in very good condition. It measures 6 1/2" high and 7 1/2: across. The basket is very strudy and useable. A rare piece.

This is a wonderful early 19th century Walnut/Maple (?) veenered mirror with beautifull detailed hand carved fret work containing an opening flower and four rosets. Chippendale and Ogee mirrors you can come across, this mirror is a one of a kind.

Here is a 19th century round pantry box in its original blue paint, it's lid is impressed with the initials "EH" for Edmond Hersey of Hingham, Mass. It's wood is Ash for the sides and Pine for the top and bottom; copper tack and wood peg constuction. Middle tack replaced, two very small shrinkage "breakouts" at pegged area on bottom and an area on the side of the lid where a mouse tried to chew his way into the box.... still great looking with nice paint and a wonderful surface. This is a wonderful usually large 19th century Hannah Davis Bandbox. The paper is the handsome Swan Handle Fruit Basket design. A box with this paper is in the Shelburne Museum and pictured in the book "Hat Boxes and Banboxes at Shelburne Museum" page 5. Hannah worked out of Jaffrey, NH. The box is 16 1/2" oval by 13 1/2" high by 12 1/2" deep. It is in wonderful structural condition with only minimal paper lost. SOLD
This is a great paint decorated Iron bull-form wind mill weight from the Fairbury Wind Mill Company in Fairbury, Neb. circ 1890-1910. It is all original including the stenciling of the "Fairbury" name on both sides. Its is 24 3/4" long by 18 1/4" high and 5/8" thick. The piece is in great condition with a nice patina.

This is a wonderful 18th century watch hutch with a tomb stone front that slides up to place the watch in. It has a beautiful patina with its original glass and cut nails. It measures 7 1/2" high by 5 1/4" across and 3" deep. I have been told that it is American, but not being an expert on types of wood I wont identify it as such. But truly a great early watch hutch.

Here is a very rare, very nice early 19th century American whale oil lantern with a blue globe. It still has its original black paint and its original burner. This is a very nice American stoneware jug from the pottery of W. H. FARRAR & CO from GEDDES, NY circa 1841, It is about 11 1/2" high and 9" at its widest, In very good condition, no cracks or chips. A burst on the right flower petal done in the firing. As you can see from the photos the left side of the bottle neck at its base dips in some. Gives it some character. The body of the jug is rippled or ribbed, not smooth side. Another difference that makes it stand out. Farrar pottery is becoming harder to fine especially in this condition.
