This is a beautiful early 19th century New England (Maine) blanket chest in its original grain paint. Along with the wonderful paint, the other things that make this chest a very desirable piece, is its size (38 3/4" wide by 27" tall and only 16" deep) and the exaggerated scalloped bracketed front skirt. It also retains its original iron hinges. The lock mechanisms for the top of  the chest and its drawer have been taken out. The contrast between the Taupe/brown chest and its mustard grained drawer is quite striking.  The only minor apology is that it is missing a small piece off the front right bracket.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Priced at $1950
